Vern Humble is your host and outfitter. He has been successfully conducting hunts and guiding hunters in the State of Alaska for over 30 years. He has experience in all of Alaska and with every one of Alaska’s regulated Big Game Animals, including having successfully guided clients for Walrus on the Polar Ice Flows and Musk-Ox in the Arctic. He guided for many years from the World renowned Rainy Pass Lodge, making friends around the world, gaining rich wonderful memories, and sometimes having more experiences than he bargained for as he guided his hunters on horseback.
Vern is a licensed Master Guide in the State of Alaska, holding license number 180. In addition he has a private pilots license and received a U. S. Coast Guard license to operate vessels in the Coastal waters of Alaska. He has several years of experience running a vessel in Southeastern Alaska along the Inside Passage and in Prince William Sound.
Vern has traveled and hunted extensively throughout the World. He has been on Safari in such exotic countries as Tanzania, Zambia, Central Africa, Rhodesia, Mongolia, Russia, Macedonia, Kazakhstan, and Mexico just to name some of those countries. He has taken hundreds of trophies on these safaris including big Elephants, a full dark maned Lion, Cape Buffalo, Leopard, and the World’s largest sheep, an Argali.
With his depth of knowledge and experience in the hunting world and his dedication to provide clients with a quality Alaskan Safari, Vern is able to not only offer the ultimate in wilderness adventure with these Custom Hunting Cruises, but also special hunts in other game rich areas throughout Alaska. It is Vern’s goal and desire to help sportsmen and women from around the World live their dream, just as he has, by providing a quality Alaskan adventure that each deserves and should expect.
Garrett Cox has been guiding hunts for eighteen years from Texas to Alaska. For the past nine years he has been guiding some exclusive hunters on the Alaska Peninsula for BIG trophy Brown Bear. During those hunts he took 17 hunters and produced 15 Brown Bear measuring from 9 foot 2 inches to a monster of 10 foot 8 inches. Counting other bear hunts in other areas of Alaska he has taken over 125 bears during his nine years of guiding hunters in Alaska. In addition he has guided for scores of other animals including monster Black Bear, trophy quality Moose, big Caribou from the Arctic to the Mulchatna River, Dall Sheep, and the majestic Mountain Goat.
Garrett grew up in the south east corner of Oklahoma in a family having a rich tradition of hunting. He has fond memories of the family outings for White Tail Deer, Squirrels, and yes he was the Frog Gigging Champion of Latimer County.
Garrett graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Biology and Wildlife Management. In addition to guiding in Alaska for BIG bears he also specializes in managing large tracts of land to maximize over all herd health and to enhance horn growth.
Today, Garrett is offering a few exclusive clients an opportunity to hunt the large Alaskan Brown Bear on the Alaska Peninsula. He also guides on a huge track of private land in Icy Bay where he is offering Record Book Black Bear, Brown Bear, Trophy Quality Moose, and Mountain Goats. With his depth of knowledge and experience in biology, guiding, and wildlife management he is able to offer clients a quality Alaskan Hunt where the experience is tailored to meet the needs of each client.
